"Getting the Hook-up"
is an Resource Exchange networking event where the attendees bring resources, coupons, etc regarding benefical connections,
discounts and services and exchange them with each other. Examples of "hook-ups" include: freebies
such as how to get a free cell phone, free trips, laptops, tickets to events, best happy hours, discount services including
hair salons, plumbers, contractors, airline tickets, free food, gifts, scholarships, etc. Prizes will
be awarded for the best "hook-up" In addtion, the evening will include nationally known book authors including
Asa Allen-Showell, author of Vicious Karma, Aginh Carter-Shabazz, author of "Choicez" and A. Roxie
Graves, author of "Pigtails", some of Philadelphia finest Performance Artists including Def Poety Jam's
Cali Starks, door prize raffles, happy hour drink $3.00 Drink specials and lite appetizers. Bring your business cards and
dancing shoes. $3.00 Validated parking
